Calibrating the NEC EA244UHD with Spectra View II

Gamut is the range of colors that a device can reproduce.
The NEC EA244UHD was calibrated using the Spectra View II software using the calibration puck supplied with the NEC PA302W.

Calibration target
There are many possible calibration targets. Shown below is a target of 6200°K at a brightness of 120 cd/m^2, a target that has worked well for your author with the NEC PA302W.
Curves after calibration
The Curves dialog shows the actual calibrated display behavior overlaide onto the target—perfect results here.
Using a brightness of 140 cd/m^2 was found to produce an abrupt non-linearity in the very bright areas (sharp flattening of the curve), which is best avoided. A brightness of 120 cd/m^2 as shown above avoided this issue entirely as the curve shows.

Color gamut after calibration
After calibration, the NEC EA244UHD shows a color gamut far in excess of Adobe RGB in the red and magenta range as well as greater gamut in the green and blue range. Excellent.
