Which Content is in WHICH PUBLICATION?
Related: How-To, infrared, Leica M, Zeiss DSLR lenses
These general organizational principles are essential to a coherent set of publication content and the viability of this site (e.g., its very existence). These policies are long and well considered for both organizational and existential reasons, not arbitrary policies.
Cameras change; lenses are an investment. Sporadic exceptions are made for well considered reasons, but are otherwise strictly avoided.
- Cameras covered as cameras for their own sake go into their native Guide.
For example, Leica M cameras into Guide to Leica, mirrorless cameras into Guide to Mirrorless, DSLRs into Advanced DSLR. A camera used incidentally to test lenses is not an organizational constraint, and might appear anywhere. - Lens reviews go into their native publication.
For example, Zeiss DSLR lenses into Guide to Zeiss, Leica M and Zeiss ZM lenses into Guide to Leica, mirrorless camera lenses into Guide to Mirrorless, Nikon and Canon mount lenses into diglloyd Advanced DSLR. - It’s not about the lens brand, it’s about the intended native mount.
For example, Zeiss DSLR lenses (an entire topic in themselves) go into Guide to Zeiss, but Zeiss Touit mirrorless lenses go into Guide to Mirrorless. - Specialty areas such as Making Sharp Images are about cross-brand general behavior; MSI pulls in whatever is needed from wherever.
- Cross-publication comparisons go into the “higher end” area. For example, a comparison with a medium format camera to a Sony mirrorless camera or Nikon DSLR goes into Medium Format; it does not “drop down” into Mirrorless.

diglloyd Mirrorless Cameras
Reviews and how-to for mirrorless cameras and their native-mount lenses, up to 35mm sensor size. Non-native (adapted) lenses go into their respective Guides, e.g., Zeiss ZF.2/ZE lenses used on a mirrorless camera go into Guide to Zeiss and Leica M/R lenses used on a mirrorless camera go into Guide to Leica. In short, specialty lens brands “stick” to their respective Guide regardless of camera used.
