Aperture Series: Barcroft Green Machine (M240)
Along with the 18mm f/3.8 Super-Elmar-M ASPH, the Leica 21mm f/3.4 Super-Elmar-M ASPH covers the ultra-wide-angle range in a rewarding way. The two lenses exhibit similar behavior, including superb control of flare, but the 21/3.4 SEM controls color fringing better.
This scene takes a look at sharpness across the frame on a 3D subject: exactly where is the 21/3.4 weak, if it is weak? Past experience suggests that the edge areas decline.

Contrast control used here to tame the bright bricks and shadowed areas of the machine; the sensor was maxed-out with just a trace of highlight loss in the very bright specular areas.
